TO PROVIDE ENERGY MEDICINE FOR THE BODY AND TO TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO TRUST AND HEAL THEMSELVES.
I had small claim-to-fame moments at home in Canada: Corey Hart music video, small parts in film, print ads all over Ontario. I was ready for the next step, A-list actor in Los Angeles.
I moved to Santa Monica, California in 2008, pursuing acting, like the many actors travelling from all over the globe. Believing I was following my heart as I thought this career path would fulfill me, but the truth was I was miserable because I was in deep emotional, physical, and spiritual pain. I couldn’t understand what was going on with me. I didn’t know how to heal myself. The only thing I knew was to follow pursuits that made you happy and keep active and that should be it? But, I was suffering greatly from PTSD, depression, anxiety, fear, anger, low self-worth, self-esteem, etc. I hated how I felt and I couldn’t appreciate who I was. I thought I had to be more than what I was, and with all of my wounds, it disconnected me from my true self.
I saw an ad in the paper of a free workshop, “How to love yourself” with Sandra Dawson. As an MFT, she knew how to heal trauma and that was the beginning of my healing journey. She taught me how to stay connected to the body, process my feelings and emotions, and to honor who I was.
Since I felt the positive effects from healing, I wanted more. I didn’t realize this has been my quest-finding solutions to all the problems I was facing, internal and external barriers.
I attended all kinds of 12 step programs for over 17 years, helping myself heal from addictive patterns, such as, codependency, handling money, dysfunctional relationships.
For my spiritual path, I explored all kinds of religious and spiritual paths, various centers all around Los Angeles. I also learned how to meditate, and to build a strong intuitive relationship with myself.
Also, during this time I was going to school at Los Angeles City College, then to California State University. I went to school for over 7 years. I should have graduated, but the truth was I loved learning as an English major, but I also loved performing arts: singing, writing, and dancing and had difficulty deciding on a career.
As I began to heal stronger every day, I began to help and be of service to others. I thought of being a life coach, like Cheryl Richardson. I attended Life Coach Institute of Orange County in 2013. I began coaching clients.
Then, one night as I was stressing about an exam to be taken the next day, I was watching a video of Brian Weiss, hypnotherapist, who was performing hypnotherapy on the audience. I decided to do it too. I felt my body go into different states of consciousness. I was hooked. I dropped out of Calstate LA and signed with Hypnosis Motivational Institute and graduated in 2015.
I was big on “Energy work.” As I serviced hypnotherapy on clients, I began picking up stuck energy, messages that the body was telling me and my clients were healing. It was fascinating.
In 2020, I moved back to my community on Ginoogaming First Nation, in the small town of Longlac, Ontario, working for Ginoogaming First Nation, helping my members with employment, training, and any other pursuits.
Recently, I became a medicine woman (a Shaman), taught by Alberto Villoldo at Four Winds. Not only I do energy work, but I work with the earth and it’s elements including animals and sprit - following the footsteps of my great grandfather (mooshum), late David Charles, the only Medicine man in Ginoogaming First Nation.
